Autocamtide-2 Related Inhibitory Peptide is a calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII) inhibitor (IC50 = 40 nM) that contains the autophosphorylation site (Thr286/Thr287) found within the autoinhibitory domain of the protein kinase. It is nonphosphorylatable and selective for CaMKII over other protein kinases such as PKC and PKA and is not capable of being phosphorylated. This compound is a used to study the physiological roles of CaMKII. The myristoyl modification allows for cell permeability.
